My hubby now has the forum up and running on our family's website. This message board is for fellow relatives to post a bit about themselves and link up with other people sharing our name around the world. We may or may not respond but we recognize you & definately welcome any messages!

In other news, we went to our monthly checkup today and mom and baby are doing great!

A heart on the mend

Mom had her heart surgery last month & is slowly recovering. Having a bit of trouble with some fluid in her lungs but any progress is great. She’s been home & getting around the house okay. Should start rehab in a few weeks. Just wanted to let everyone know!

Release the hounds!

Well, it’s the Friday after Thanksgiving. Everybody and their grandma are out shopping and my wife decides she’s going to go too. Because she woke up at 4 am with the baby kicking & couldn't sleep.

The bad news…the crowds are going to be horrible.
The good news…I got out of it! Woohoo!

Nursery coming together

We just finished decorating the nursery walls this weekend. It really looks great! You can see pictures in our gallery.

We also went to the doctor today and had our 20 week ultrasound. We got to see out baby for the first time! Well, the first time where he/she was bigger than a peanut anyway. I’ll post the pictures up here once I get them scanned.

Mom's heart surgery

As some of you know, my mother was scheduled for heart surgery for a valve replacement. The reason the valve needs replacing is because of a teen illness. Now due to her recovering cough & fluid in her lungs, it’s been postponed until next week sometime.

Baby B. #1

Today two of our friends had their first baby.... a baby boy... at 5:22 pm. He is 8 lbs-1 oz & 20 inches long! Everyone is happy & healthy.

It's a live one folks!

Tonight I felt the baby kicking for the first time! It felt more like occasional taps & tiny fish swimming in my tummy. Still too soft for my hubby to feel it quite yet. This is so cool! Now I know why they call it the quickening.

Next doctors appointment is Nov 10th. They’re doing the ultrasound we’ve been waiting weeks for! Can’t wait to see how much the baby has grown!!!

My best friend's wedding

This weekend we went to Vegas for my best friend's wedding at Ceasar's Palace/Hotel. The wedding was beautiful! Although it was kind of hard to do some things being three months pregnant with morning sickness, we still managed to do some sightseeing. Vegas wasn't all I thought it would be but then it's challenging to have fun in 'the city of sin' when you can't drink or go to dance clubs. Maybe next time I'll enjoy it more! It was worth it though being there for my girl's wedding though.

First Great-grandchild for hubby's family!

We are proud to announce that our first baby is on it’s way into this world! As of today, we are ten weeks along which is great for the baby. Pregnancy symptoms haven’t been too bad & Mommy-to-be is getting lots of sleep. So far everything looks good. Our next dr appointment is Sept 16, 2003. Just a few weeks away!

Hail the queen!

Today my mom, youngest sister, best friend and myself went to the Renaissance Faire where we had fun trying on jewelry & watching shows. The costumes are amazing & so elaborate. I only wish I could make or buy something like those! Wow!

In the meantime, I'll settle for my head wreath. LOL
