Strange Accomplishments

When you become parents, you start having conversation you couldn't imagine having before. Like yesterday, our son who is in the process of being toilet-trained, went poop in his training toilet for the first time. I was so proud of him because he told me wasn't finished & then called me in a few minutes later to show me his poop in the toilet. He definately gets it. So what do we do then?

Well of course we call Daddy & our son tells him how he went poop in the toilet. He was so proud that he kept repeating it during the whole conversation. So after I clean out the training toilet bowl (let me tell you that it was gross) & praised him, my hubby & I thought we should do something special for him that evening. Problem being we don't really have any kid places except for McDonald's around us.

So when my hubby got home, we went to McDonald's where our son climbed the tubes for the first time. He was hesitant until I climbed in with him twice to show him how to do it. Not a good idea with my back hurting but kids can compell you to do many things that may not seem to be a good idea. I love seeing him smile. After two times, I couldn't climb anymore but our son got the hang of it & kept on going for another 15 minutes. Although I couldn't see him, I swear he kept going the same path inside the tubes.

On the way home, we stopped & picked up some overnight pull-ups. Then we had one of those "Oh-my-god-somebody-help-me" consumer moments. You know where you stand there overwhelmed by your choice in styles & brands. I've always preferred Pampers first & then Luvs. I'm not a big fan of Huggies. After standing there looking at an assortment of packages, we asked someone for their opinion. It was like picking out diapers for the first time again. Finally I grudgingly decided we could try Huggies Overnight Pull-ups.

Our son was very proud of his new pull-ups. So after Daddy changed him, he came running to show me in only his pull-ups & socks saying "Look" with his hands in the air. It was so precious! The pull-ups passed the test with no leaking last night so hopefuly we were more than lucky. ;-) Keep your fingers crossed for us!

New location

Until I can repair my layout to accept videos without forcing everything else to the bottom, please see my uploaded videos here.

Start ripping!

Today they started ripping up the bottom half of the driveways of our street. Later this afternoon it's our turn! In the next few days, they'll then replace it with a new 'curb less' one. We'll see how it turns out!

Out of gas

Sat morning we drove to see my in-laws. About two-thirds of the way there, we were literally running on a empty tank for about five minutes. I was just laughing my butt off because my hubby would be the one to run & find gas on a country raid in dreary weather while I stayed in the car with our sleeping son. He was actually getting worried himself! It all worked out though. We even passed a gas truck leaving the gas station! How ironic!

One for all & all for one!

Friday night my son & I went to my Mom's company outing to see the local minor league baseball game. It's really geared towards & great for kids. We definately have to take our son there again. It's a fantastic price too! On the way home that evening I was tired so I tried some iced coffee (to keep me awake) & white castle hamburgers on drive home. I know just the thought is disgusting. I really don't know what I was thinking but it was the worst combo I've ever tasted. It was a good day though.

Mommy & son cuddle at the game!

My parents snuggle up!

My nephews enjoying the baseball game

Let's play ball!

They were so excited to run the bases afterwards!

We're to see the game! The wonderful game of baseball!

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's the ball!!!

My, what big feet you have!

Hanging with Grandma & up to no good!

Peter Rabbit's troubles!

Friday morning my son & I went to the local story time where he loves playing with trains. He's generally good about sharing the trains with his friend there. We got to see Peter Rabbit & hear his story book but he was more interested in the trains. When it was time to change his diaper & leave, he had a screaming fit. Luckily it was over quickly without any running through the store. Then he fell asleep on the way home & had a nice nap.

Funny men

Thursday night we had a nice dinner out where we discovered the new interactive gaming/jukebox computer screens in a local restaurant. Pretty cool I think!

My two favorite guys!

Corny but lovable!

Just what everyone wants to see!
