Trains & Corn

Today my son & I ran some errands. We went to pick up our sofa cushions which were cleaned but the shop closed before we got there. He was so good that I went to another crossing so my son could get a better look at the train passing. He really loves his trains.

On our way home, we found a local farm selling some sweet corn & other vegetables really cheap. I only needed enough for dinner so I got six sweet corn & four huge cucumbers for a grand total of $2.75. I'll have to keep my eye out for those places!

After we got home, my son was great at helping out. He folded & carried around laundry, spent 15 minutes switching towels from one hamper to another, husked some of the corn with me, handed me the eggs for making dinner, wiped down the table with daddy after dinner & cleaned up his toys before bathtime. I'm trying to teach him to become more independent. If he learns to do things himself, that means less work for me later on. :-) Not to mention that he'll be helpful man around the house, which anyone he lives with will appreciate. Yes I know, I think way ahead.
