Several times during our trip out here, we've driven by this church that had some kind of fire which basically charred the middle of the church. I was intensely curious & wondered what happened. On google I found an article referencing to an electrical malfunction which caused a small fire to spread throughout & gutted the 120 year old historic church in December 2004. It's now 18 months or so later & appears to be set for demolition. There's no talk of rebuilding yet although they're trying to get funds donated to do so. Here's a link to the article. What a tragedy. At least nobody was killed though; that would have been so much worse.
