What a rockstar!

Last weekend we had Daughter go without diapers & wear regular underwear all weekend in an effort to potty train her quickly. After having 5-6 accidents & outfit changes, she still hadn't seem to pick it up. Then Monday morning she had an accident in the store, again requiring a complete outfit change. On Tuesday, I had a diaper on her as we ran a couple errands when she told me in the middle of the store she had to go potty. We ran to the restroom, asking her to hold it the entire time & got in the bathroom. To my surprise, she held it! This trend continued since then, with the exception of pooping, even when she was at the Y daycare. Then she did it all by herself, shocking everyone. I tell you she's rockin' this & it's awesome!

My birthday boys!

I'm so proud of my birthday boys! This month Son turned six years old & Hubby turned 34. Son loved his Wii for his birthday & Hubby gets to enjoy a month of being the same age as myself until I turn a year older than him again. I love my younger men!

There can be forgiveness... maybe.

After a lot of talking & thinking, I realized that part of supporting my wonderful parents is sometimes giving forgiveness to others. Unfortunately this cannot apply to all, based on history of repeated events; but to those who have realized & ready to admit their mistakes, I would be willing to listen & try to move on. I know I have also said some harsh things as a result of the way my family & I have been treated in the past when I should have either held my tongue or said something directly. I've never admitted being perfect & adknowledge the mistakes I've made. The tough part in all of this has been learning that sometimes being strong for others means giving someone a second chance. I can do that for the ones who truly matter to me.

Much to celebrate!

This month has been a wonderful one. A few weeks ago, I planned a surprise weekend for Hubby with his best friend who flew in from Florida. Hubby got a wonderful shock when he found his best friend waiting for him in our bathroom! We enjoyed some late night Hibachi steak & shrimp.

The next day my parents went with all of us to a local outdoor sports park where we raced go-carts, played some soccer & hit some softballs. Afternoon events included lunch at an outdoor hot dog stand & celebrating birthdays at home. The evening brought us to the front row at Medieval Times where Son, Hubby, his best friend had their birthdays announced by the King. Although our knight didn't win, we did witness a marriage proposal during a knighting ceremony that was very sweet! Yes, she said yes. :-) The evening was capped off by Hubby, his best friend & his Brother-in-law being knighted as well.

Saturday we spent the day at a local museum checking out the some new exhibits. The evening was for adults only consisting of a delicious meal at a Brazilian Steakhouse & the movie 'Alice in Wonderland'. Dinner was fantastic & the movie I could have done without surprisingly.

Sunday was our lazy day playing Wii until it was time to sadly take our friend back to the airport. Hopefully we'll be seeing him again soon.

Just filthy!

Yesterday I heard about how some major retailers are selling used underwear as new! Not only is that super gross, but it sounds like a major health risk to me. There are just some things you don't buy used. Ugh... Make sure the 'new' panties you buy have the pantyliner!
