One parent

One of my oldest friends has been a single parent for almost half her life. She's always struggled but has managed it & done a fantastic job. I will never be able to put into words just how much I admire her.

There are many good single parents out there but unfortunately there are just as many that think only of themselves & with their hearts. You hear about them on the news all the times. Now I am lucky enough to never have to do that which I'm thankful for. I can only imagine how difficult & heartbreaking it is to do the right thing. On the other hand, I just don't understand how single parents can make choices that are right for them & so obviously wrong for the children. Maybe it's not always black & white but shouldn't some decisions be obvious?
