There are many uses for blogs these days. Some bloggers use their blogs to inform the world of news, jokes or tidbits. Others blog to rant about the world around them. I blog about my life to share it with family & friends since everyone (including us) are so busy these days. This way they can stay informed about what's going on with my life & our family. They can see my son change as he's growing up, hear about the progress he's making & laugh about his latest adventure or comment. They can hear the latest info on our second pregnancy & any other changes or events in our lives. I know some family & friends who read this & can keep up with our lives appreciate staying informed because they comment on it when we see them at birthdays or on holidays.
Now for the issue of privacy. There are bloggers who use real names no matter what. Then there are others that maintain privacy for themselves & others. As for myself, I do not use names to protect myself, my family & the people I know. If I blog about something or someone, I will not name them. I do that because I think everyone deserves privacy. If someone sees something of themselves in one of my posts, it's because they or someone they know are involved in a similar situation.
Then again, sometime there's no connection at all. If there is then only the people involved would recognize it. To the rest of the world, they just see me ranting. For the most part, a thought occurs to me that gets me thinking which I then post here & often has nothing to do with anyone I know.
The bottom line is this... when & if I have an issue with something, I may blog about it but I refuse to name the individual. They will see it in themselves, good or bad.
