Reconsidering our position

Recently our mortgage went up quite a bit after we found out the bank wasn't taking enough out for taxes. Once we arranged that, UP IT WENT! We have always been very fortunate but like many people with families, we are struggling. Once we get used to this adjustment, we'll be okay but it's very unsettling and depressing when it happens.

I felt awful about our situation until I saw someone whose water was turned off because they hadn't paid their bill in several months. The worker felt awful & gave her some time to call the company to try and work things out with the company. It appears they've fallen on hard times and rumor is that maybe the marriage is in trouble as nobody has seen the husband around for quite a few months. There are kids involved & we know the wife is still living there. Although the house is for sale now, so hopefully that will turn things around for them & give them a new start. Again this is all speculation. Whatever their situation is, I sincerely hope things turn around for them soon.

So even though we're struggling now, I'm thankful we can pay our mortgage, utilities & groceries. It definitely puts things in perspective.
