Transition to two kids

My hubby's mom was such a great help this week. These past two weeks have been a much easier transition with the help of our parents. I couldn't imagine not having family around & really feel for those who don't in similar situations. They can make change so much easier to deal with.

After I put our son & daughter to bed last night, I got in bed myself. As I was falling asleep, I heard my newborn daughter wake up with hiccups & could just picture the frustrated look she gets on her face when that happens. She absolutely hates getting the hiccups. LOL In the middle of the night then, our son crawled into bed to sleep & cuddle with me.

My hubby sent me this gorgeous bouquet yesterday with an endearing note. He's so wonderful & knows just how to surprise me. I love how the stargazer lilies fragrance fill the house. It doesn't hurt that it's stunning to look at either! ;-)

Today was the first day completely on my own with two kids. It's been interesting; more time-consuming than anything else. The challenge is when you have to do something with each child at the same time. Like when I was breastfeeding my daughter & putting my son in the corner at the same time. Let me tell you, it's quite interesting when you dragging one child behind you while an infant is attached to your breast! I ran errands for the first time with both kids by myself. It's truly amazing how much long everything takes. We picked up some prescriptions, ran to the bank & picked up a few items from the resale shop (including the 'cool helicopter' as he calls it). Today each child decided to nap at separate times which left no time for me to sleep. I managed to start some laundry which if I'm lucky I'll be get to tonight or this weekend some time.

We made some fruit salad with strawberries, bananas, apples & cantaloupe. My son was in awe of all the colors in it. Kids find wonder so easily. It's a shame we lose that as we get older.
