Yesterday & Today

Wednesday night my hubby had game night with his friends. He needed the time to relax after his recent work project.

Thursday our internet provider finally showed up after our internet being down since we got back & possibly since we left for vacation. It was then we found out that a technician from our internet provider had previously disconnected our entire internet service for no reason whatsoever. After having many issues with them & our internet service requiring service calls for repair six or seven times, we’re sick of it. We’ve found our previous provider with a lower rate which we’ll be getting very soon. At that time, it’s goodbye forever to our current internet provider.

In the afternoon, I napped while my son did until my mother-in-law arrived. She watched my son while I went to my OBG appointment. Everything with the pregnancy is going well. I have no current issues (out of the ordinary) & no worries since this is my second pregnancy & have been through it before. We all hung out together & then went out to eat after my hubby got off work. When I ordered a cinnamon bun, I discovered it was the size of a dinner plate! Needless to say, we saved it & the remainder of our dinner for breakfast this morning. LOL

Day One & Two in Orlando

Three days after Father’s day, I ran a last minute errand before the three of us headed to the airport for Orlando for my hubby’s business trip. After parking at the airport, our son loved riding the bus where we checked our luggage. The trick was bending over with my 7.5 month belly & messing with my son & both of our shoes after security. Our son got a kick out of going really fast at take-off & eating his Scooby doo fruit snacks. I even managed to stay calm during the whole flight. During the flight, we watched the movie & read books with our son. It got a bit bumpy but none of us had any problems with it. During the landing, our son said ‘Wow’ while eating more Scooby Doo snacks. We took a few pictures in airport lobby before riding the train to pick up our luggage with our son. He’d been talking about all day! After briefly using the GPS tracker in our rental car, we were both hooked! It made everything so easy, especially for me! We grabbed some take-out & hubby ran in for groceries while I watched our son sleeping in the car. Although it was late, we got settled & ready for next day.

Our first night in Orlando, I didn’t sleep well & was up at 5 AM researching for local activities to do with my son. While my hubby went to work, my son & I ran some errands & spent two hours fixing rental car problems, picked up some replacement prenatal vitamins, had lunch with Daddy at the mall, took a nap & then ate lunch at home. We went over an insanely high bridge, walked & collected sea shells on beach which my son absolutely loved! After work, we managed to avoid getting hit by a runaway cart while daddy ran into the grocery store. Daddy prepared dinner, while I showered & got refreshed for company. Then our hubby’s best friend came over & joined us for dinner so we all got a chance to visit. Then I got us prepared for SeaWorld the next day while my hubby worked for bit. Then it was off to bed for all of us.

Day 3 in Orlando

Our third day in Orlando, my son & I went to SeaWorld with the help of the GPS system & no problems whatsoever. Some of his favorite attractions were walking through the underground shark tunnel, watching & participating in the Elmo & Bookeneers show, watching the mama & baby dolphins at the Dolphin nursery, sharing ice cream together during the thunderstorm, napping while I ate lunch, attending the amazing dolphin show, watching & identifying the families of dolphins underwater & seeing the miniature alligators. All day, he kept asking for ‘more animals’! I headed back to my hubby’s best friend’s house while my son was still so excited from seeing all the animals.

Our son was still wide awake & excited when we arrived at hubby’s best friend home for the weekend (thanks again to the GPS). He ran around the house playing with the dogs until my hubby & his friend took my son with them grocery shopping. Meanwhile I took a bath & shower to relax from an exhausting but fun day. Afterwards we all had a late dinner which I was actually coherent for. Then it was bath time for our son & bedtime for Mom & Dad.

Day 4 in Orlando

Our fourth day in Orlando, my hubby ran errands with his best friend while I got our son ready. Then my hubby & I took our son to Magic Kingdom where we rode the monorail there & then rented an electronic wheelchair since I was already exhausted from walking all over SeaWorld with our son the day before. It made the day much easier to enjoy. It was absolutely magical seeing our son & his reactions to different attractions. He danced during the stage show with all the characters in front of Cinderella’s Castle, tried grabbing objects in the air flying at him during the 3-D Mickey show, sang the pirates’ theme song during the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, laughed when riding up high in Dumbo & Aladdin rides & waving at the characters during the late night lighted parade. All day he kept asking for ‘more rides’ but we got almost all of them in even with his afternoon nap. Although we tried several times to visit with the actual characters, our son either got bored or fell fast asleep during the wait. The important thing is that he really enjoyed it all & so did we. It was amazing to share it with him. We didn’t leave the park until around midnight & then rode monorail back to our car. After we got our son in his car seat & everything loaded up, we realized he was asleep before we even got our seat belts on! He was definitely running on fumes at that point but unwilling to quit until he knew we were heading home.

Day 5 in Orlando

Our five day in Orlando, we all slept in exhausted from the previous day & evening at Magic Kingdom. Then our friend surprised us with a yummy breakfast of steak & eggs! Our friend then joined us for the day at SeaWorld. My hubby & friend alternated pushing the stroller & the manual wheelchair (for me) during the day. We got a front row seat for the Elmo & Bookeneers show so our son got to high-five Bert & Harry! You should have seen the thrilled look on his face. We all got soaked with ice cold water at Shamu’s show to which our son asked ‘more?’ (LOL) It was another full day which gave us more happy memories. On the way home, our son fell asleep so he slept in bed while I packed. Then we ate a delicious steak & potato dinner with our friend. While my hubby fixed a work problem, I fell fast asleep with son in bed.

Day 6 in Orlando

Our sixth day in Orlando, I took hubby to work. My son & I ate breakfast, using our leftover groceries & helped out the housekeeper with making the bed & charming her. Then we showered & I packed our suitcases while my son finally took a much needed nap. We then headed & played on at the beach. This was the first trip my son has experienced being on an ocean beach & acted like it was a constant water ride at a theme park! We stood in the waves forever as they crashed into us; each time my son would start falling down with a hilarious round of giggles & asking for ‘more?’ Before we left, we found a pile of seashells on the beach which someone had abandoned so my son picked most of them up (including the sand) & dropped it into the plastic bag. After cleaning up, we found a toy left behind for our son by the housekeeper. We packed the last minute belongings, picked up hubby & our luggage & then off to the airport.

Although we got to the airport & checked in with no problem, that changed quickly enough. Weather delayed the captain so boarding was delayed 45 minutes. As all the kids in the waiting area were playing, our son hugged an older girl he was playing with & laid a big kiss on her! Everyone laughed & boy did I turn red! Once everyone was on the plane & ready to go, they found a hydraulics failure during the dry run. So they found another plane & had everyone transfer over to another gate. Once we were there, they asked for everyone’s boarding passes (which had all been collected while boarding the first plane) which caused some very loud complaints. They then checked everyone’s individual ID’s as they boarded the second plane. About ten minutes into boarding, two women got on the plane, stopped & put down their bags blocking the entire aisle. They refused to take any other seats other than the ones they had in the front row in the first plane. When the three women in the front row refused to move, the two women said “well, we can stand here all night.” Talk about acting like children on a plane full of kids! Once the captain, security & the police were involved & called onto the plane, all five women still refused to take any other seats. I’m not sure who but then the two parties started to name call & argue very loudly. It was only then that the two women chose seats but it was too late. It was obvious that the remainder of the passengers (us included) were uncomfortable going 30,000 feet into the air when the argument was obviously escalating so the police removed all five women from the flight. I understand they weren’t happy but neither was anybody else. I hope them acting like children was worth missing the flight, staying overnight & finding another flight home worth all the trouble when they could’ve just gotten through a couple of hours instead. So we waited another 20 minutes to get their luggage off of the plane before it finally we took off. Our son had a hard time getting to sleep on the plane because he was so overtired at 11 pm & traveling all evening.

After landing, our son had a screaming fit because he was still sleepy & wanted Daddy to carry him. My hubby started driving home while my son & I were dead to the world only to find a bridge under construction with traffic stopped both ways at 3 am. After a twenty minute wait, we were on our way home again & got there at 3:30 am. Once our son was in bed & our luggage brought upstairs, we wearily crawled into bed. Before going to sleep, my hubby tried to send a work email to discover our internet was down. What a great trip & memories we made with our son despite the problems coming home!

Before, during & after Father’s Day

Late Friday night before Father’s Day, I was so tired but had to take a shower. During the shower, I sat down to let the warm water help the cramps in my baby belly. Somehow I fell asleep sitting up & woke up to lukewarm water running over me. (LOL) That was quite the experience! Obviously I was asleep in less than fifteen seconds once I crawled into bed.

Local Health Fair & Farm Day

Saturday before Father’s Day, we went to a local hospital health fair & farm day where we had a blast. We sat in giant tractors, befriend a police dog, our son chased after someone in a chicken outfit, made craft dough, picked up a rooster by the butt & ran in a giant ball with Mommy. After a short nap, we attended our neighbor’s daughters’ birthday party. He’s used to playing alone with the birthday girl on play dates so he was a bit jealous for the first 30 min. He adjusted & played nicely with the other kids. Then he was anxious to eat a birthday cupcake & help open the birthday gifts. At bedtime, he experienced a major meltdown while daddy went played with some other guys from the party.

Father’s Day

For Father’s Day we had lunch with my parents, youngest sister & her boyfriend. We then spent the early evening hanging out & had dinner with my in-laws. I kept falling asleep all day & couldn’t seem to stay awake. The third trimester fatigue seems to be kicking in.

Playdate at Local Waterpark

Monday after Father’s Day we had a play date with another mother & son at the local water park. Although hesitant at first, I loved how brave my son was. He started going down the water slide all by himself. We came home & both napped during the thunderstorm. We watched the movie ‘Incredibles’ & started copying the one character by picking up coffee table. We had an early dinner, got haircuts & ran some errands. Daddy put son to bed while I showered & did some planning. Unfortunately I didn’t sleep well all evening.

Youngest Sister Visits

Two days after Father’s Day, my youngest sister baby-sat while I ran some errands preparing for our trip. Then I packed all afternoon & evening for trip so we all could be ready to leave.

Ready for fun at the local health fair & farm day!

Father's Day Pics

Our son was amused for a bit with the etch-a-sketch at lunch with my family but got bored quickly. Can you tell?

After a long wait at the restaurant, we finally get to eat dinner! Just when we were about to go somewhere else, we were seated. How's that for timing???

Playtime at the in-laws with his toys!
