Yesterday my hubby & I took our son to zoo where we had a great family day. We arrived in the early afternoon & my hubby was the designated photographer for the day so I could get pictures with our son. We got some great ones too! Those should be in our family web sites gallery by tomorrow if not tonight.
We all had to try the new carousel, not only because it looks amazing but it’s so unique & the largest hand carved carousel in North America. There are 100+ animals on it ranging from tigers to ant-eaters to snakes to otters. If you get the chance, the kids really get a kick out of it. The colors are just amazing. Our first ride was full so my son rode the seahorses!
Then we saw his favorite animal ever… the elephant! They even have a training session which our son & my hubby got to see an elephant close-up.
We decided to checkout the play area. My son & I tried on a zoo keeper & femur outfit. My son loved going from room to room seeing the different animals. We both pet the leopard gecko which supposedly makes a great house pet. Maybe we’ll get that next time instead of cats. LOL My son & his daddy played outside in some tunnels. "You better duck, Daddy!" I painted our faces & he stayed very still.
On our way to lunch, my hubby noticed a cool rainbow by goose fountain. I came back with refills for our drinks looking like a western gun-slinger but with cokes instead! Our son huddled in his blanket looking all cute after lunch.
Off to the giraffes & the expedition jeep. As we continued to walk around, our son found great fun running away from us so we had to chase him so he didn’t get a block away. I never imagined such little feet could get so far!
Then we tickled our feet in the vibrating foot rests. What fun! Our son then rode the elephant on the carousel one last time. Finally we pulled our car out of the trees. Yup… that’s what it looked like.
