Yesterday our son & I rode to work with my hubby where my Mom picked us up. We shopped for baby gifts for my sister, J & my sister-in-law, N. Then it was off to Arbies for lunch & then pick up a few things from Walmart.
(Has anyone not noticed how Walmart has become a 'household' name these days? It's hard not to shop there because they have everything with low prices.)
After Walmart, I dropped by to see my sister, C. I've tried getting in touch with her these past couple months since she left her previous boyfriend. She got a new apartment which I haven't even gotten an address for. Her cell phone has been off, she hasn't had an answering machine & can only make local calls. Needless to say, I'm concerned about her but she's keeping her distance from the family. For whatever reason, hasn't even come to family functions (birthday parties, BBQ, etc). She's missing so much in our lives, not to mention her nephews.
Anyhow, she was in the shower & wanted me to wait. Her live-in boyfriend, A, let me in. I had to go though because our son was sleeping in the car while Mom waited with him. When I saw her at work later she told me she had gotten the items I'd dropped off & could call her later. (She wasn't home when I called her then either.)
After dropping by C's place, Mom & I went back to her house where we worked on baby shower gifts & decorations. Everything turned out very nice I think. The gifts will be wonderful & very personal! Our son was so tired but refused to nap. So instead he alternated between crying, playing with his toys & watching his video. He wasn't happy but okay overall.
He was thrilled though when we got to go into my parent's hot tub. The water was luke-warm & the water level lower than normal (which worked for our son). So he got into his Donald Duck water float (also from freecycle) where he splashed endlessly most the time with his feet on the floor. He gets nervous when he can't touch the floor or the water is too cold. After a while, my parent's neighbor J & her 19 month old son joined us. The boys loved splashing together while we covered our eyes & bonded over the challenges of being a stay-at-home mom.
Daddy met us at my folks after work & got our son warm & dressed. Then he worked on my Dad's computer before dinner. My mom made breaded chicken with rice. Our son loved the chicken! Then while our son finished my Dad's computer (the best he could), Mom & I ran over to Sam's Club with our son. Our son was so exhausted from the day he fell sound asleep in my mom's arms at the store... and he's not a lightweight. There we got our groceries & talked to my sister, C.
Then I picked up m hubby & drove us home. Since we were both tired, we talked on the way home keeping each other awake. Simply put... we were exhausted after a long day!
